Psychometrics. So what?

Are you getting hung up on your label? I see lots of people talking about the MBTI type but what you have got to keep asking is “so what?”

What are you going to do with this new information? My feeling is that most people use to support their existing direction, to affirm and confirm their existing behaviour.

I feel this is missing the point. Jung believed that although we have a natural preference, we should expand ourselves by operating more in areas out side of our comfort zone. (I paraphrase but you get my point).

When we learn new information we should do something with it or it’s useless. This is particularly true if we learn something about ourselves.

It’s one of the reasons PeopleMaps doesn’t simply provide general personality reports. Instead we prefer to give you personality reports within a context so that you can take action and change your life.

So what are you going to do? What change internally or externally are you going to make?
